At St. Thomas', we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all our pupils. We understand that every child is unique and may have different needs when it comes to their learning and emotional well-being. That's why we have created bespoke rooms around the school to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Learning Hub

Our Learning Hub is a therapeutic classroom specially designed to provide a calm and supportive environment for our students. In the Learning Hub, pupils can receive tailored support to help them manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build their social skills. With comfortable seating, soft lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere, the Learning Hub is a safe space where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Benefits of the Learning Hub:

• Individualised Support: Our experienced staff provide individualised support to help students overcome challenges e.g. our learning hub is used as a quiet space during lunchtime which all pupils are able to access. 
• Calm Environment: The Learning Hub offers a calm and peaceful environment, free from distractions, where students can focus on their learning and emotional well-being.
• Improved Social Skills: Students have the opportunity to build positive relationships, practice communication skills, and learn how to collaborate effectively with their peers.

Lighthouse Room

Our Lighthouse Room is a sensory room designed to provide a stimulating and soothing environment for students with sensory processing difficulties. Equipped with a variety of sensory equipment, including lights, sounds, textures, and interactive elements, the Lighthouse Room offers students a unique sensory experience tailored to their individual needs.

Benefits of the Lighthouse Room:

• Sensory Stimulation: The Lighthouse Room provides students with opportunities for sensory exploration and stimulation, helping them to regulate their sensory experiences and improve their ability to focus and concentrate.
• Calming Environment: The soothing atmosphere of the Lighthouse Room can help students to feel more relaxed and less anxious, promoting a sense of well-being and emotional regulation.
• Improved Concentration: By engaging with sensory activities, students can improve their ability to concentrate, process information, and participate more fully in learning activities.
• Emotional Regulation: The Lighthouse Room provides students with strategies and techniques to help them regulate their emotions and manage stress and anxiety more effectively.
