Eco Committee

What is an Eco Committee?

Our school Eco Committee is made up of two members from each year group and Mrs Shaw. These children nominate themselves because of their passion to make our school more sustainable and ensure the pupils, staff, parents and wider community are aware of environmental issues. The Eco Committee meet at least one a half term to discuss new ideas and activities to focus on to help make our school more environmentally friendly.

What have the Eco Committee achieved?

Over recent years, the Eco Committee have had many achievements. Some of these include:

Litter picking in our local park,
Walk to School Week,

Endangered Animal Week,

Designing school compost bins,

Launching the 'Parking Pros' initiative to improve safe parking around our school.

What is next for the Eco Committee?

This academic year, the Eco Committee will focus specifically on promoting safe parking around our school grounds. This has been an ongoing issue that we have had and the Eco Committee feel passionately about making our school grounds safe and promoting walking to school to do our bit towards reducing emissions.
