Supporting Our School Community
The St Thomas’ PTA – Helping Hands is a friendly, dedicated group of parent and teacher volunteers who work together to raise funds and create memorable experiences for our children.

We are a registered charity (No. 1061993) committed to enriching school life and strengthening our wonderful school community.
 

What We Do
Throughout the year, we organise a wide range of fun and inclusive fundraising events, including:

• School discos
• Summer Fair
• Christmas Fair
• Raffles
• Breakfast with Santa
• International Lottery (monthly prize draw)
• Vinted second-hand clothes shop – wearandsharestthomas
   

We share details of our events through the school newsletter, Class WhatsApp groups, Instagram and our PTA notice board. We are currently raising funds to purchase new learning resources for the children.

Making a Difference
We are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made together as a community. Over recent years, PTA fundraising has helped provide:

• New playground equipment worth £6,000
• Laptops and iPads
• Enhanced learning resources
• £300 per classroom each September for additional books, games and curriculum support materials

Our goal is to fund those extra opportunities and resources that go beyond core local authority funding — giving our children the very best school experience possible.
 

Meet the Committee
Our PTA Committee is led by:

• Susi – Treasurer
• Jessica - Secretary

Working alongside Mrs Alty and a fantastic team of volunteer parents and teachers, the committee is dedicated to supporting our school and benefiting every child.
 

PTA Meetings
We hold termly meetings, either at school or online, to plan events and discuss new fundraising ideas. All parents and carers are welcome. If you would like to attend the next meeting, please contact your Class PTA Representative.
 

We Need You!
We are always delighted to welcome new members to our friendly PTA team. No experience is necessary — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved! You can:

• Help at events
• Share fundraising ideas
• Offer professional skills or expertise, such as grant writing, communications or building links with local businesses

Every little bit of help makes a big difference.
 

Match Funding – Double Your Impact
Many companies (including banks, insurance companies, utility providers and supermarkets) offer match funding schemes, where they match the money raised at fundraising events.

If your employer offers match funding, please get in touch — it’s a brilliant way to double the funds we raise for the children.
 

Shop Online and Raise Funds
You can support St Thomas’ PTA at no extra cost through easyfundraising. Easyfundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for our school. Simply start your shopping via easyfundraising, shop as normal and then retailers donate a small percentage to the school. There are over 7,000 participating retailers.
