We recognise that for many children they have been away from school for a significant period of time. Therefore; we will be prioritising the children's mental health to help them readjust to school life - we are calling this our 'Compassionate and Connected Curriculum' and will focus on the following three Rs: Reconnect, Readjust and Resilience. There will be opportunities each day for children to explore their emotions through worship, PSHE and circle time.
Whilst there will be some lessons during the first days of school, we will increase this gradually to allow for more opportunities for PSHE and play initially as well as readjusting to the new changes in school. We will also explore concepts such togetherness and hope through our whole school book focus in English 'Here we are'.
Our curriculum is mapped out to allow the children time to go over concepts they have learned previously. This will allow for opportunities to consolidate learning and cover any gaps the children may have due to the lockdown.
Inevitably there will be some changes to the school curriculum, for instance there will be no whole school worship in the school hall, however our ultimate aim is to keep things as normal as possible for the children.
