P.E.

For this half term, PE will take place on Thursday afternoons. PE will be taught by Miss Murphy and will take place both indoor and outdoors (weather permitting). We ask that children come to school wearing their PE kits every Thursday until further notice.  It is recommended that they wear their school shoes when coming to school and to bring their pumps along in their PE bags. After our first PE session, PE bags and pumps will remain in school.

Home Learning

At St Thomas, we value the importance of reading widely and as frequently as possible. For this reason, we ask that children read five times per week; this can be from a school reading book, a home book or even a library book! We will being sending books home from Monday 14th September 2020.

Learning Journals

Learning Journals are an important part of life in reception! They should be brought into school daily (in a St Thomas' book bag) and taken home at the end of each day. Home reading should be recorded in Learning Journals and signed by an adult. Learning Journals are checked every Monday morning.

School Library

We are very fortunate to have a wonderfully atmospheric and well stocked school library here at St Thomas' also known as the Deep Dark Wood.  Every Tuesday morning the children in Reception will visit the library and enjoy a story together in The Deep Dark Woods.
