Learning Journals

Learning Journals are an important part of life in Year Four! They should be brought into school daily (in a St Thomas' book bag) and taken home at the end of each day. Home reading should be recorded in Learning Journals and signed by an adult. Learning Journals are checked every Monday morning to check that you are reading 5 times a week!

Home Learning

At St Thomas', we value the importance of reading widely and as frequently as possible. For this reason, we ask that children read five times per week: this can be from a school reading book; a book from the school library or a book from home.

We are still part of Times Table Rock Stars which means that we would love your child to continue accessing TT Rock Stars at home. This will support your child's progress and boost their confidence in maths. It will be good practice for the statutory times table test at the end of the year.

Spelling and times table tests will take place every Friday morning. Spelling sheets will be sent home at the start of every half term (a copy will be uploaded to the 'Home Learning' page). Spelling scores will be recorded by the children into their Learning Journals.

Home learning menus will be sent out each half term with a range of activities for the children to choose from. The children will upload their tasks onto Seesaw.
