Jesus said, ‘”Come, live your life the way God wants you to”

The Early Years provision at St Thomas is proudly enriching and aspirational. Our pupils are fully immersed in all 7 areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage, as expert staff carefully plan, sequence and tailor learning and development opportunities that inspire and motivate all.

Reading and vocabulary are at the heart of all we do. We recognise the crucial importance of ensuring our pupils have the rich vocabulary they need to communicate eloquently using the written and spoken word.  Children, staff and parents are encouraged to work together to foster a love of reading within the school and home environment and to encourage children to develop excellent reading habits, not just for necessity but also for pleasure.

Emotional well-being, resilience and a growth mind-set (or can-do attitude) are just some of the empowering attributes we seek for all our pupils. We want all pupils to develop a positive self-image, have the confidence to make meaningful, sustainable relationships and be independent thinkers who are confident to share their ideas and opinions with others in a respectful manner.

Our school values are a strong steering tool that helps to guide our pupils along the right path. All of our pupils are encouraged to always have our school values at the forefront of their mind and to continually strive to demonstrate them with God as our unwavering supporter and ever-present guide.  We firmly believe that our school values help to develop a moral compass within our pupils and this, coupled with our aspirational curriculum is the foundation upon which St Thomas’ EYFS consistently celebrate excellent results year after year.
