Year Five Spellings

Below are some pictures from our fantastic residential at Hotherall.  We had a brilliant time from start to finish. Not only did we carry out a river study but we took part in lots of activities including: zip wire, orienteering and the gauge challenge.

Silent Reading

After lunch today, we had a ten minute silent read: you could hear a pin drop!
We love reading!

Today we had a visitor, Gary - a Viking specialist! He told us all about the Vikings; the way they lived, their beliefs and even about their amazing inventions.  We were able to look at plenty of artefacts which gave us a great insight into the lives of Vikings. Check out our topic page for all of the pictures!

Today was Mad Hair day and Year Five looked incredible!  Each child paid £1 to have 'mad hair'; all of that money will go to Children in Need.

Tom was the winner in Year Five for the most creative style!

We had a brilliant day in Grasmere last half term.  Even though it rained, we kept smiling! Our tour guides taught us about weathering in mountain ranges and took us on a challenging walk. Our day ended with ice creams in Grasmere village.  Thank you to everybody who came and helped out!

Thank you to everybody who came to watch our Harvest assembly. We really enjoyed performing! Mrs Alty and Mrs Morton-Woods are extremely proud of us.

Today we met our new class pet! He is a Syrian hamster and we have named him DJ.

A singing warm up

We are taking part in the Sky Speed project this year which will culminate with a performance. We loved practising the brand new songs with Danny and Stuart from Sefton Music Service.
