£5,000

Emergency Building Appeal

launched 11th March 2010

Please help us by giving as much as you can to enable us to finish the final stage of our building project. We need to raise £5,000 in the next 2 weeks so that we can afford to put five stained glass window panels in our front entrance. We have beautiful English Oak panels in our new Reception area, but no glass, so please help us to complete our new building.

Money can be sent into school marked "School Fund" or cheques sent in payable to "St Thomas' School Fund".

Thank you for your generosity in our 170th year!

School was built in 1840 by public subscription and now we are doing the same again. Family, friends and ex pupils who donate will be given a special invitation to our anniversary celebrations later this year, so please make sure the school office know your details.

THANK YOU!!

Congratulations to Mrs Lockley for succeeding in her bid to obtain £135,000 for After School Club facilities

Parent Mail

Please return your "Parent Mail" permission slip urgently in case we need to contact you. This is a special slip giving us permission to pass on your phone number and email address to the Parent Mail Company. If you are not sure about this, please contact the school office.

Thank you

Mrs Lock

Mayor of Sefton, Councillor Alf Doran

The Mayor hosted a private visit for our School Council in his office and in the Council Chamber. We invited the School Council from St Peter's CE School in Darwen to join us for this special visit on Monday 23rd November 2009. The children learnt so much, including how to debate in the council chamber. Councillor Doran said how polite the children were to each other!

Jamie Carragher Liverpool FC

On Wednesday 14th October 2009 Jamie presented two children with a certificate to celebrate the fact that St Thomas' had raised over £750 for "Claire's Hospice". Children from school had taken part in the Sefton Triathlon and raised this money through sponsorship. We actually raised over £1000 in total, but the organisers of the Triathlon said we could keep £250 to spend on sports equipment for school. We are planning to take part again next summer 2010 and we hope to raise even more money for another local charity.

TEACHER AWARDS 24th October 2009

Mr Dave Williamson was winner of the North West of England finals and he now goes forward to the national finals which will be held in London at the Drury Lane Theatre. The BBC will be televising this prestigious event. We hope Mr Wiliamson wins!

Ofsted Report July 2008

HMI said that St Thomas' school is outstanding! The latest report can be seen on the 'Key Information' page.

Liverpool Diocese have also inspected St Thomas' School and have agreed with Ofsted that St Thomas' is an outstanding school. We will have the full reports available soon for parents, children and governors to digest the details.
